WASHINGTON, D.C.

Dr. Scranton always knew he wanted to pursue a career in medicine but it wasn’t until he failed the eye exam portion of his driver’s test and met the local optometrist that his fate was sealed. After attending Iowa State University he moved on to the State University of New York College of Optometry. Almost 25 years later, Dr. Scranton has worked with a diverse patient base and is even able to conduct eye exams in Spanish. He is most proud that he’s been able to help patients achieve a better quality of life. “I’m touched when a patient bursts into tears after picking up their new glasses, or when I receive a letter from a patient thanking me for making a difference in their world.” When not changing patients’ lives, he’s out discovering new restaurants (he’s a self-proclaimed foodie), traveling or watching HGTV.
